Seagull AS, a leading provider of competence management solutions and training material for seafarers worldwide and part of Ocean Technologies Group, decided to upgrade the company's e-learning platform, putting the focus on redesign and functionality upgrade. The company sought to invite additional developers and work on the Frontend part of the platform. The search led Seagull to Frontbyte.
Challenge
Frontbyte's first task was to find the developers and form a team that would be a great fit for the project. Having succeeded, Frontbyte received an additional assignment to create automation quality assurance (QA) processes from scratch.
When Seagull became a part of Ocean Technologies Group, the company's approach switched to mobile-first. The successful collaboration with Frontbyte continued, with an Android and a Backend developer joining the project.
Frontbyte's Frontend team completed the redesign and upgrade, adding original features and employing cutting-edge technologies. In addition, the AQA work allowed for creating and supporting the quality assurance processes.
The mobile team, comprising Frontbyte's Senior Android Developer and the customer's Senior iOS Developer, recreated some of the Ocean Technologies Group's mobile applications, including the e-learning app.
With the addition of a new developer, the work has started on prototyping microservice architecture for the backend.
The new e-learning platform meets modern industry requirements and includes additional features, which makes it the most comprehensive platform for maritime e-learning.
Ocean Technologies Group continues its collaboration with Frontbyte, integrating the company's developers into their team.
